IN THE STUDIO I AM EXPLORING ATTITUDES OF CONNECTION, COMFORT, AND REJUVENATION, ALL IN REFLECTION OF HOW IT RELATES TO TEXTILE DESIGN.
SUMMER IS UPON US! Time for summer vacations, backyard parties, and spending time with family and friends. Summer is all about rejuvenation and grounding in comforting experiences and deeper connections. Connections with people, places, and objects within our daily environment. This can have several implications for art and design. Textile designs can directly effect the mood of an environment or product with color, tactile input, and by evoking emotional responses through representation of familiar objects or locations.
Here in the studio, our color crush to kick off the summer season is a Vibrant Orange that brings bursts of energy and pops of color to any space. Orange is versatile and can be used as the main attraction in a print, a budding contrasting background, or as an accented highlight to bring a sense of freshness and dynamic element to a design. I'm sharing a few prints inspired by outside patios and playful backyard parties.
HOW ARE YOU expressing the rejuvenating energy that the summer season brings in your latest art and design projects?
